If you’ve been a victim of crime, you’ll need to decide whether you want to tell the police. This is your decision and LVWS can help and support you whatever you decide.
If you want to report a crime and need support to do so, we’re here to help.
If you report a crime
The police will ask you if you would like to be referred to us for support.
Non-emergency
If there’s no immediate danger and the crime is no longer in progress, please don’t call 999.
Saving 999 for emergencies helps the police make best use of their resources.
Every victim of crime is important to us. Instead of calling 999, you can call 101 or go to your local police station to report a crime.
Silent Solution (emergency help if you can’t talk)
If you need emergency help and it’s not safe for you to talk, just dial 999 and listen to the instructions from the operator. You can respond by coughing or tapping the handset if you can. You can also press 55 on your keypad to let the operator know the call is genuine.
