About us
The VVA provides support to people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence who live, work, study or visit the City of London. The VVA is based within the Public Protection Unit at Bishopsgate Police Station, where there is a confidential room for face-to-face appointments. Support can also be provided over the phone. The VVA also has outreach sites across the City and is able to meet people at their place of work to make the service accessible and convenient for service users. The VVA provides support that is tailored to the individual, including emotional and practical support. Practical support includes advocacy, support through the criminal justice system, signposting/referrals to other services, risk assessments, safety planning etc. An individual can self-refer into the service, or can be referred by a professional. The individual must consent for the referral to be made. The VVA also provides information and advice to professionals and individuals concerned for a family member or friend.
